The Heart of Our Camping Ministry

  • Evangelism: Intentionally presenting the gospel of Christ in a clear, loving manner to everyone who comes into contact with our program and staff, but more specifically, through the programs, Bible studies and relationships between staff and campers.
    (Rom. 1:16; Gal. 4:11-12; Eph. 4:15; 1 Peter 3:15)
  • Discipleship: To nurture campers and staff along in their faith with the truths of the Scriptures, so they have a better understanding of who they are in Christ and that they may be built up in their faith becoming mature and complete in Him.
    (Matt. 28:18; 2 Peter 3:18; Col. 2:6-7, 3:16; 1 Thess. 5:11; Jude 20)
  • Christ-centered: Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord. Therefore, our very foundation needs to be built and grounded upon Him. We desire for all aspects of our programs and lives to be focused solely on glorifying and exalting His name and allowing His power to so envelop and control us, that people will see Jesus in all we say and do.
    (1 Cor. 2:2, 8:6; 2 Cor. 4:5; Gal. 2:20; Phil. 1:21, 3:7-11)
  • Biblically based: God’s Word is the final authority by which we will guide all of our decisions. We will willingly submit to its authority and allow it to permeate every aspect of our structure. It provides us with everything we need to live productive Christ-like lives and so that we will be thoroughly equipped to do every good work.
    (Psalm 119: 11; Prov. 30:5; Col. 3:16; 2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12)
  • Relationships (Relationally focused): The most meaningful and lasting impact of our program is being a relationally focused program. First, we desire to focus our efforts into building and sustaining our personal relationship with the Lord. Then, from the overflow of our intimate relationship with the Lord, we will seek to build relationships with campers. Relationships are the centerpiece of our program. (Matt. 12:34-35; Mark 10:13-16; John 7:38)
  • Fun activities: Camp is fun! We want campers to experience creative and safe activities in an atmosphere that is charged with anticipation, excitement, and enthusiasm. The basis of this is rooted in the joy of the Lord and His promise of an abundant life. (Prov. 17:22; John 10:10)
  • Outdoor environment: Three hundred secluded and forested acres, stars, wildlife, sleeping outside, and a clean and clear lake.  The outdoor setting is one of the unique qualities of camping. We want to provide an experience and atmosphere that lends itself to getting away from the elements, routines and activities of regular everyday life.  This type of setting allows campers the opportunity to hear God’s gentle voice while experiencing God’s awesome creation in ways many do not get to experience.  It also allows them to be more carefree as they pause, reflect and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. (Psalm 19:1-6; Psalm 104)
  • Excellence: We will strive for excellence in our actions, attitudes, and programs so that in all things we may bring glory to God. (1 Cor. 10:31; Col. 3:17)
