Frequently Asked
Questions
-
Yes, you can make those requests when you register. We do try to meet all cabin requests to ensure a good camp experience, as long as both campers are in the same age group and the request is mutual.
-
Typical cabins will have 6-8 campers in the same age / peer group. We will always have at least two staff with each cabin, with at least one being a Senior (college aged) Counselor.
-
Yes. Though they will not be in the same cabin if they are in different age/peer groups, there are several times throughout the day where they would be able to see each other and “check-in”.
-
Each day starts with Cabin Counselors waking campers up and encouraging them as they get ready for the morning, and then tidy up their bunk area and the cabin.
Just prior to a hearty breakfast, all campers meet at Line Up for flag raising and announcements.
Immediately following breakfast, each cabin finds a quiet spot for morning Devotions with a relevant Bible message.
Next, campers will move through their first and second activity sessions for the day.
After the second session, lunch in the Dining Hall awaits!
Immediately following lunch, each cabin group returns to their cabin for a 30 minute restful “Chill Time” before headed back to Main Camp and the Waterfront area for Free Time.
Free Time lasts 90 minutes and then their third activity session of the day follows .
After this great activity session, the Cabin groups meet up for an afternoon Bible Exploration time right before lining up for dinner.
Following dinner, campers meet up for Action, which is always a favorite part of each day, playing a field game.
Evening Line-up features Flag lowering before moving to Campfire.
Following each nightly campfire, campers return to their cabins for discussion about the Campfire story or message, then get cleaned up and settle in for Quiet Time and a well deserved nights’ rest after a full day!
-
Our programs are designed to give campers opportunities to experience a wide variety of activities that will challenge, engage, and entertain them. Some examples of activities we offer include: Canoeing, Rifle Shooting, Archery, Wood Working, Snorkeling, Fishing, Team Games, Tubing, and much more!
-
Yes! We have a great track record with even the pickiest of eaters. We are proud to say the we often hear how good the food is at NEFC from many of our campers, even the ones who come to us as “picky eaters”! Our menu each week is built around serving meals that are healthy and appealing to our campers. Our Hospitality Director Kathy Rivers is available to answer any questions or concerns you might have.
-
Our Kitchen and Health Teams can accommodate most dietary needs. All food allergies should be discussed before your camper’s arrival to ensure that we can accommodate their needs. To learn more. Please get in touch with our Hospitality Director Kathy Rivers if you have specific questions.
